Last month, along with the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max, Apple also announced its new-generation smartwatch — Apple Watch Series 4. Now, it is available for pre-order in India through online marketplace Flipkart as well as Apple Authorised Retailers.

The 40mm GPS model is priced at Rs. 40,900 (approximately $553) while the 44mm GPS model costs Rs. 43,900 (approx. $594). The GPS + Cellular model is priced at Rs. 52,900, which roughly converts to $715. The company will start shipping them from 19th October.

The Apple Watch Series 4 has been redesigned and re-engineered, with the display being over 30 percent larger and integrates into a thinner and smaller case. The Digital Crown now offers haptic feedback, providing a mechanical and responsive feel through incremental clicks.

The wearable device is powered by the next-generation S4 chip with a custom 64-bit dual-core processor, which is claimed to deliver twice the speed while maintaining the same all-day battery life. It is running watchOS 5 that the company says offer advanced activity and communications features.

For health-related features, along with a new accelerometer and gyroscope, which detects hard falls, there’s also an electrical heart rate sensor that can take an electrocardiogram (ECG)using the new ECG app. The ECG app takes advantage of the electrodes built into the Digital Crown and new electrical heart rate sensor in the back crystal.

It comes with a speaker that is 50 percent louder and has been optimised for phone calls, Siri, and Walkie-Talkie. The microphone on the smartwatch has been relocated in order to reduce echo for better sound quality. As per the company, all health and fitness data is encrypted on-device and in the cloud. Coming to the battery, the battery life on Watch Series 4 is the same as before — 18-hours.

A new Vivo phone with model number V1731CA has gotten its TENAA certification. The full specifications including images are already up on the agency’s website.

The Vivo V1731CA has a 5.99-inch 1440 x 720 screen. The images show the phone doesn’t have a notch but has moderately-sized bezels around it. It seems Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 launch date is nearing as the company president, Lin Bin has announced about it on Weibo. He says that it is incomparable with a whole new concept and will release in October. He added a photo of the sliding phone with a dual camera and 100% display, which is reported to be the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. Asus has received position response in the Indian market for its Zenfone 5Z flagship smartphone and Zenfone Max Pro M1 mid-range phone. Now, after the success of both those devices, the Taiwan-based company is now all set to launch new devices in the Indian market.

Recently, we reported that the company has sent out media invites for a launch event on 17th October in India. Now, it’s confirmed that Asus will be announcing two new smartphones at the event. Also, this is the global launch event, meaning that both the devices will first get launched in India. The event will also be live-streamed by the company.

ZTE delivers Android Oreo update for Axon 7 with issues

ZTE Axon 7 is the company’s most popular device launched in May 2016. It has received proper updates and security patches since the past couple of years. Recently, ZTE started pushing the Android Oreo-based update for Axon 7, but it carried some issues. As per some users, these are the same issues that have been found in the beta version which was rolled with July Security patch a few months ago.

It seems ZTE didn’t rectify few issues in the beta build and rolled out the stable build to all the ZTE Axon 7 devices. It resulted in app crashes, overheating problems and users are having difficulty with connectivity. It also lacks support for the Daydream VR in the latest so-called “stable build”.

Recently, ZTE faced sanctions from the US government which restricted the company to operate in the mainstream market. As now the sanctions are lifted, ZTE has launched the Axon 9 Pro and has started testing the software builds in open beta.

The stable build is not available for download via OTA, and you need to sideload it via SD card. Surprisingly, you have to wipe your data and install the update on ZTE Axon 7. Well, it is quite strange that ZTE is rolling the stable update without an OTA support. Some users are reporting that the update brings an encryption issue which doesn’t decrypt the data on device’s partition irrespective of what pin was entered.

In the previous week, HMD Global had launched the Nokia 3.1 Plus smartphone in India. Soon after its Indian launch, the smartphone that bears a model number of TA-1117 was spotted on the website of China’s TENAA telecom authority. The specifications of the smartphone is yet to appear on the TENAA listing, but it does include its images.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus TENAA images show that the handset is equipped with a tall aspect ratio display at the front. The back panel of the phone features a vertical dual camera setup followed by an LED flash and a fingerprint reader.

Meizu cites display production issues as reason for X8 delay

The Meizu X8 is supposed to go on sale tomorrow but Meizu announced that it has been pushed forward to October 25. When it released the official statement announcing the postponement, it didn’t provide a specific reason. Now, more info has surfaced about the delay.

According to Meizu’s CEO, Jack Wong, the display panel supplier for the Meizu X8 is Chinese display maker BOE and they are experiencing production issues with the display. The X8 sports an LCD panel but the display uses COF (Chip-on-Film) packaging process a first for a Meizu full-screen phone and one that is custom-made and a bit difficult to make.

The problem is already being dealt with but it has affected the delivery of the panels hence the reason for pushing the sale date forward.

The Meizu X8 has a 6.2-inch 1080 x 2220 screen with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and a notch at the top. It is powered by the 10nm Snapdragon 710 processor with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage.

At the end of September, Thailand had received the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone. Since the Redmi Note 5 Pro was met with overwhelming response in India, it is speculated that the Redmi Note 6 Pro will be met with good reception. According to reliable tipster from India, Xiaomi is planning to launch the Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone in India. He has claimed that the phone may go official during the Diwali festival season at the end of the first week of the coming month. Apart from sharing the launch plans of the Note 6 Pro for India, the tipster has also shared key details on its storage and color variants that will be landing in India.

The tipster has revealed that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will be coming to India in colors like Rose Gold, Black, Blue and Red. Like the Redmi Note 5 Pro, its successor is expected to release in India in variants like 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM.

Compared to the predecessor model, the Redmi Note 6 Pro does not seem to offer many new features. The Note 6 Pro is fitted with a 6.26-inch notched IPS LCD screen that produces Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The handset is fueled by Snapdragon 636 chipset and 4,000mAh battery.

The back panel of the Redmi Note 6 Pro features 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel vertical dual camera setup. For shooting selfies, it is fitted with a 20-megapixel + 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It is fitted with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. There is no information available on the pricing of the Redmi Note 6 Pro for India.

Samsung Galaxy A6s leaked photos reveal sleek design, color variants

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) that was unveiled in the previous month is the first phone from the company with triple rear cameras. The South Korean company has recently announced the Galaxy A9 (2018) phone as the world’s first phone with four rear-mounted cameras. A recent report had revealed that the South Korean company is planning to launch the same phone in China. The Galaxy A9 (2018) may not be the only phone that is heading to China since it is speculated that the country will be also receiving the Galaxy A6s smartphone that has a model number of SM-G6200. Freshly leaked photos of the Samsung Galaxy A6s have surfaced today to reveal its color variant and design.

As it can be seen in the newly leaked images, the alleged Galaxy A6s is equipped with glass panel on the rear. Its color variants include purple, red, blue and black. The rear design matches with the SM-G6200 phone that was certified by China’s TENAA telecom authority in the recent past. Hence, it seems that the SM-G6200 model number belongs to the Galaxy A6s smartphone.

According to the TENAA listing of the SM-G6200, its colors variants are black, blue, red and pink. So, the purple looking variant could actually be the pink model. The back panel of the phone features a vertical dual camera setup and a fingerprint scanner.

The front view of the Galaxy A6s reveals that it could be sporting Infinity Display design. The side bezels of the phone are a bit thick. The bottom bezel is empty, but the upper one features a selfie camera and an earpiece. The bottom view of the phone reveals that it is equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack, a microUSB port and an external speaker. One of the photos have “Galaxy Phoenix” mentioned on the boot screen which could be the codename of the smartphone.

Rumors surrounding the Galaxy A6s state that it could be the first ODM from Samsung. Because of the dismal market share of Samsung in China, the company has reportedly entered an agreement with China’s Wintech that also produces phones for Xiaomi. Hence, future Samsung phone for China could be produced by Wintech.

Coming back to Galaxy A6s, its TENAA listing has revealed that it features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen that delivers Full HD+ resolution. Samsung is known for releasing phones with its Super AMOLED screens. After many years, the company could be launching a phone with LCD screen. It is powered by 2.2 GHz octa-core processor and 6 GB of RAM. Its storage editions are 64 GB and 128 GB. The handset will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo OS. For more storage, it will be featuring a microSD card. It will be fueled by a 3,300mAh battery.

Pictures reveal a version of the Huawei Mate 20 will have a stylus

Huawei‘s Mate 20 series will be officially unveiled on Tuesday, October 16. There have been massive leaks in the past week but a new one has surfaced which reveals an important detail for one of the models.

Photos have surfaced on the web that shows one of the Mate 20 phones will have a stylus. You read that right. The live photos seem to be from an official document but were originally taken in a Huawei store.

In the images, we can see three phones placed under the Mate 20 stand- two which stand side-by-side and have a similar size while a much larger one is propped up on the right. The pictures are blurry but we believe the two phones on the left are the Mate 20 Pro and the Mate 20.

The larger device which is on the right is the one with a stylus albeit a pretty big one. We presume this is the Mate 20X said to be aimed at gamers, but from the images, it seems Huawei has added stylus support as one of its distinguishing features.

Samsung is no doubt the king of stylus-toting phones with its Galaxy Note series and no manufacturer has been able to take the crown from it. However, Huawei seems to want to make an attempt with the Mate 20 X.

Obviously, the stylus doesn’t fit into the device, so Samsung has the upper hand here. We also have no idea what features Huawei has added to the Mate 20X with respect to stylus support so we can’t say if it measures up to that of the Note series. Nevertheless, we are eager to see the stylus in action.
