Samsung Galaxy S10 To Reportedly Come With A 6.44-Inch Infinity Display

Ahead of the launch of the next-generation Galaxy Note-series smartphone, reports related to the company’s next year’s flagship smartphone has started making rounds. The latest development indicates that one variant of the Galaxy S10 will come with a larger 6.44-inch Infinity Display.

Samsung Galaxy S10
Samsung Galaxy S10 Concept Render

According to the reports, the South Korean giant is planning to launch three models under the Galaxy S10 series and the addition of the third model is said to be for the triple-camera sensor model. An earlier report mentioned that while two models will have a 5.8-inch display, the third model will come with a 6.2-inch display. But the latest report hints that it is no longer the case.

The new report from South Korean indicates that the screen size for one of the model has now increased to 6.44-inch, which is expected to be the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, which will be the successor of the Galaxy S9 Plus. However, take this report with a pinch of salt given that there is no concrete evidence for increased screen size.

The different variants of the device are identified by the codenames Beyond 0, Beyond 1 and Beyond 2, respectively. Even though it will have a triple camera setup, the alleged Galaxy S10 Plus camera module will be different from the one of Huawei P20 Pro as the company is expected to develop its own sensors.

Earlier, it was reported that the Galaxy S10 will come with a display capable of emitting sound. Samsung had showcased its sound-emitting display concept at the Society of Information Displays (SID) 2018 where instead of an earpiece, the vibration and bone conduction of the display panel carries the sound.

Further, it is also speculated that the Galaxy S10 could also be Samsung’s first phone to come with 3D facial recognition similar to iPhone X and Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition. The Samsung Galaxy S10, expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 855 chipset, may get officially announced in January 2019.

HMD Global Working On Nokia A1 Plus Flagship: To Have OLED Display, SD845 & In-Screen Fingerprint Scanner

An exclusive leak by Winfuture.de has revealed that HMD Global is working on a flagship phone currently known as Nokia A1 Plus. The phone will reportedly come with all the features you’d expect in a 2018 flagship.

Nokia A1 Plus

The Nokia A1 Plus goes by multiple names in the document. It is also referred to as the A1P, AOP, and even A1 Plus Euro. It will be manufactured by FIH Mobile (Foxconn) and will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 mobile platform. The Nokia A1 Plus will add to the short list of phones with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Current in-display sensors work with only OLED display and this means it will also have an OLED display. This will be supplied by LG Display according to the docs.

There is no specific detail about the camera specifications but the documents say it has a “high risk camera”. We practically have no idea what that means but we’ll pretend they mean high-end camera.

The Nokia A1 Plus has been in development since February and was scheduled for a mid-year release. Due to production challenges, it will now launch in the second half. HMD Global is targeting the device at the European market first, so there is a chance they might announce it at IFA Berlin or at the least, a private launch in a major European city.

LG V40 Will Come With Five Cameras & A Notched Display

The Huawei P20 Pro was the first phone to launch with three rear cameras. News going around says the LG V40 will also come with triple rear cameras but up the game by adding dual front-facing cameras for a total of five cameras.

Android Police says a source informed them of the Korean giant’s plan for its next flagship. LG will stick to its wide-angle lens + standard lens configuration for two of the rear cameras but the job of the third sensor remains unknown.

lg v30 android oreo
LG V30 ‘s successor, the LG V40, will come with five cameras

For the front cameras, one of the sensors or even both will capture details of the face for 3D face unlock. Those two sensors will sit in a notch. So if you don’t like the LG G7 ThinQ because it has a notch, you may be disappointed again. However, you should be able to hide it if you want.

The choice of the display panel isn’t yet confirmed though. LG used an IPS LCD screen for the LG G7 ThinQ while the V35 ThinQ has a P-OLED display. Chances are it may stick to OLED for the V-series.

Other features mentioned include quad DAC, a dedicated Google Assistant button, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845. So, basically, we are looking at an LG G7 ThinQ with more features (read more cameras).

When the OPPO Find X was launched last week, It was reported that it was going to be available in the United States. Sadly, that won’t be the case.

The news comes from PCMag’s Sascha Segan who tweeted that OPPO informed him the Find X will not be coming to the US. Though they confirmed it will be available in Europe.

Oppo Find X

According to Android Headlines, OPPO mentioned back during the launch of the OPPO R15 and OPPO R15 Dream Mirror Edition that the US President is keeping them out of North America. The US is currently in a trade war with China and asides that, recent treatment of other Chinese brands already in the US market will deter new players from coming.

However, OPPO will be re-entering the European market after taking a break for a few years. If you live in the US and want the OPPO FInd X, you should be able to order it from third-party sellers.

The OPPO Find X is a truly bezel-less device with no notch. It hides the front camera and 3D face scanning sensors in a motorized slider so as to achieve its impressive 93.8% screen-to-body ratio. The OPPO Find X isn’t all screen though. It packs a Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of built-in storage.

Earlier this week, Wong had confirmed on the existence on a new smartphone named Meizu X8. He had also revealed that the X8 would be fueled by the new Snapdragon 710 SoC. Yesterday evening, he gave out some more information on the Meizu X8 smartphone.

Wong has claimed that the upcoming X8 will be better than Xiaomi Mi 8 SE which is the first smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 710. He also said that the X8 will be featuring a larger display than the Mi 8 SE. Wong did not confirm on the exact pricing of the Meizu X8, but he revealed that the handset will be priced under 2,000 Yuan (~$303).

The Mi 8 SE was introduced in two variants such as 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 6 GB. These models are respectively priced at 1,799 Yuan and 1,999 Yuan. The new details revealed by Wong clearly suggests that the Meizu X8 will be a good rival for the Mi 8 SE.

Since the X8 is an upper mid-range phone, it won’t be featuring in-display fingerprint. The advanced fingerprint scanning technology will be available on Meizu 16 and 16 Plus flagship phones that are slated to go official in August.

The upcoming Meizu X8 will be introducing the X series which will be arriving to replace the MX series. The Meizu X6 that was released in 2016 is the last the MX smartphone from the company. Last year, it was supposed to announce the MX7, but the Chinese firm did not launch it.

The new Xiaomi Mi Band 3 explorer version was teased by the official Xiaomi Band Weibo handle and isn’t any different from the models presently on sale, except for the strap. The translucent strap looks quite eye-catching as a result of the contrast created between the black fitness tracker and the strap.
