Dual Camera Equipped Cool1 Dual From LeEco & Coolpad Official: Priced at just 1099 Yuan ($167)

The past few days have been busy for LeEco and Coolpad alike as these two companies, for the first time, were all set to release a smartphone in collaboration, called the Cool1 Dual. Now, this particular flagship device has just become official, revealing its powerful specs and cheap pricing. Looks like the consumers are going to benefit to a great extent with this new collaboration.

cool1 official 01

The Cool1 Dual flagship is made out of magnesium alloy and undergoes anodic oxidization, CNC edge processing, CCD precision machining and a number of other processes to ensure that you end up with a premium metal body. Looks wise, the phone seems to be inspired from the previous LeEco offerings in the market. At the bottom, you get dual speakers as well as USB Type-C port along with a microphone opening. The back features a dual camera setup, a first for LeEco as well as Coolpad, along with a fingerprint ID sensor. The dimensions are as follows: 152 x 74.8 x 8.2mm and the phone weighs 173 grams.

leeco cool1 01

Before we take a look at the highlight of the LeEco Cool1, i.e. the dual camera module at the back, let’s see the other specs of the device. The Cool1 flagship comes with a capable Snapdragon 652 octa-core chip clocked at 1.8GHz with three memory variants: 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. There will be a 5.5-inch 1080p display on board.

Like the rival Redmi Pro, LeEco and Coolpad have played it smart by incorporating a very large 4060mAh battery on board. This large battery can reportedly also be used for reverse charging via the USB Type-C port. Other features of the Cool1 include universal remote function, fingerprint sensor located at the back, dual SIM dual standby with entire network support, 4G+ and EUI OS. Unfortunately, there’s no NFC.

leeco cool1 02

Now coming to the important part, the cameras. The Cool1 Dual will come with a dual camera module at the back. However, the company claims that the module used inside its new device is using second generation dual camera technology, i.e. Dual Camera 2.0. The first generation dual camera tech used one regular camera sensor along with a depth of field sensor as a secondary camera, like in the case of the HTC M8 and the Redmi Pro. However, in the new generation dual camera 2.0, the Cool1 comes with one black and white camera sensor and a color sensor, whose information are clubbed together to take better-looking photos. This means that Huawei phones like the P9 and V8 are using dual camera 2.0 technology.

The company further adds that using the dual camera 2.0 technology on the Cool1, the phone can enhance the overall image clarity by 20%, reduce noise by 8% and increase brightness by 20%. So, this should mean that the phone will take better low light images as compared to a traditional single camera module. Other features of the module include 6P lens, a number of filter support and stand alone black and white mode.

On the front, the phone comes with a regular 8MP shooter.

cool1 prices

Now, coming to the pricing of the three variants, the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM model starts at 1099 Yuan ($167), the 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM model will retail at 1499 Yuan ($226) and the 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM version will retail at 1699 Yuan ($256). There’s also a Huachen special edition model with only 2000 units available.

The phone will be up for reservations starting today at 6PM and will go on sale at JD.com, Lemall and Coolpad’s online store on August 24 at 10AM.

Meanwhile, check out the entire Cool1 specs from here.

Another dual camera phone for the cheap and this might be a bit better than the Redmi Pro as well. What do you think? Looks like we will have to look at both these devices in detail very soon!

Xiaomi’s CEO Announces NFC Mobile Payment MI Pay

Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, announced the company’s NFC based mobile payment at an event last night. The mobile payment service called MI Pay joins other NFC payments such as Google’s own Android Pay, Samsung Pay, and Apple Pay.

MI pay

NFC payments allows you to store card details (credit, debit, gift, loyalty, and membership cards) on your phone which you can use to pay for items or get access to places without having the physical card with you. MI pay works the same way. All you have to do is to place your NFC enabled phone (after launching the payment app) against the card reader and you’re ready to go.

Xiaomi already has a NFC-enabled phone, the Xiaomi Mi 5. So owners of this phone should soon get the service rolled out to them. The company has announced a number of banks that currently support MI Pay: China Construction Bank, Bank of Communications, China Merchants Bank, Huaxia Bank, Minsheng Bank, Ping An Bank, and Industrial Bank. They’ve also announced that more banks (Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank, China Everbright Bank, Beijing Bank, and Guangdong Development Bank) will be added in September.

IDC Q2 2016 Smartphone Shipments (China): Winners and Losers

The International Data Corporation (IDC) has released the second quarter rankings for smartphone vendors in China and the top three winners, Huawei, OPPO, and Vivo grabbed a combined share of 47% of the total market. This is an increase from last quarter’s 45%.

IDC Q2 2016

So how did these companies achieve their success? The IDC has narrowed it to three major things:

  • Strong offline sales

Oppo and Vivo’s strong offline sales is as a result of their  shops and advertisements occupying most of the cites that fall within the Tier 3 (e.g. Hangzhou) to Tier 5 categories and making it easy for people living in these cities to access after sales service. For the bigger cities (Tier 1 and 2), they focused on sponsoring major entertainment shows to win over customers.

  • Focused marketing on key technologies

The top 2 brands for the second quarter, Huawei and OPPO had products that had key technologies which were the focus of their marketing campaigns. The Huawei P9’s marketing campaign focused on the dual camera technology and emphasised on the partnership with German optics manufacturer, Leica. OPPO on the other hand marketed their fast charge technology and camera prowess of the camera-centric OPPO R9 which is one of their best selling phones till date.

  • Celebrity Endorsements/Brand Ambassadors

Celebrity endorsements isn’t a new trick in the art of marketing but some companies still don’t use it. OPPO hired popular Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor as its brand ambassadors for the R9. Vivo initially hired Korean actor, Song Joong Ki as the Vivo X7 ambassador but have dropped him a few days ago. Huawei has also hired a brand ambassador for its Honor line. Even brands like Xiaomi that have been known not to spend on advertising have hired three ambassadors for the Redmi series.

OPPO R9s certified by TENAA, Thin Metal body similar to its predecessor

OPPO R9s, the next big thing from China’s second largest smartphone maker OPPO, has received certification from the Chinese Telecoms regulatory agency TENAA. We had earlier reported that the R9s could likely be released in September ahead of China’s National Day celebration, the TENAA listing tends to reaffirm that assertion.

The OPPO R9s is a follow-up to the highly successful OPPO R9 smartphone which saw the sales of OPPO’s smartphones more than double for both the first and second quarter of 2016. The TENAA listing only gave little details about the device listed as OPPO R9km, but the accompanying image render shows some similarity in design to the expected OPPO R9s.

OPPO R9km specs

The Oppo R9s features a thin metal body just like the R9, and should run on Android M. It is said that the phone comes with the new super VOOC fast charging feature that can charge the battery full in 15 minutes. But the main difference between the two phone models is that Oppo R9s will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset instead of the MediaTek Helio P10 found on the R9 model.

The Snapdragon 625 processor uses 14nm process which is said to give the R9s a top of the pack performance and provide power efficiency and there is an Adreno 506 GPU which powers the graphics. The Oppo R9s also supports Cat. 7 LTE network and comes with Quick Charge 3.0 in addition to its latest VOOC super fast charge feature.

New Le 2S Renders Reveal Super Thin Bezels, Loop Antenna Design

We had previously reported that LeEco could be planning to release a new smartphone in September around IFA Berlin. While we are not yet 100% sure what to expect at the event, it’s being said that the company could announce the upgraded Le 2S on September 9. Considering that last year in October, LeEco had unveiled the Le 1S, it’s quite possible that we are going to see the Le 2S in September.

Le 2s narrow bezels

Now, a couple of renders from different sources have made it to the internet, claiming to reveal the design of the Le 2S. Both the front as well as the back have been revealed. The first image comes from Weibo and reveals that the phone will feature super thin bezels. Looks like the company is going to continue the Borderless ID design on the new device as well, possibly an upgraded version.

le 2s loop antenna design back

The second image comes via XDA and reveals that the Le 2S will be using a loop antenna design, similar to Meizu Pro 6. Just yesterday, we had reported that a similar design is going to be used on the Vernee Mars smartphone, so it looks like this design is finally catching on. The body, as expected, is made out of metal and we can see that there will be a gold color variant.

RELATED: LeEco Le 2s Said to Launch on September 9

As for the specs, there are rumors that the phone will feature the Snapdragon 821 chip with 8GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, given that Le 2S should be a part of the company’s affordable mid-range lineup, it remains to be seen whether we will see such high-end specs on the upcoming LeEco device.

Xiaomi’s Q2 2016 Phone Shipments Down by 38% in China as Huawei Leads

Chinese innovative startup, Xiaomi has always had the problem of its devices not being available in enough quantity in the Chinese market. Despite efforts to plug that up, in the research report, International Data Corps (IDC) revealed that Xiaomi’s phone shipments for the second quarter 2016 ( Q2 2016) plummeted to 10.5 million. This brings the shipments down from 17.1 million shipments recorded during the same period last year, a 38% drop in shipments.

Xiaomi wallet

The report as published by Bloomberg, placed Xiaomi at the fourth position of top phone brands in China, behind Huawei, OPPO and Vivo, even as Huawei took over the top spot in China which is reputed as the world’s largest market.

Apple’s domestic shipment in Chinese market also took a dive by 32% in the second quarter of this year, placing Apple in the fifth position, just after Xiaomi, in a market whose competitiveness has increased along quality, design, and marketing lines.

The success of Huawei and Oppo, who sit at the top two positions was attributed to the companies concentrating on one or two key attributes in the marketing messages. While Huawei emphasized on the stunning Leica camera lens, now available on its smartphones especially the P9, OPPO concentrated on its fast-charging technology.

Xiaomi is still making efforts to shore up supplies for its smartphone and with the way they made their latest offering, the flagship Redmi Pro, available both via offline and online sales channel, their results for Q3 2016 could see a tremendous rebound, hopefully.

ZTE Axon 7 Review: DESIGN and DISPLAY

IMG_4207JPG

The Axon 7 is one of those phones that you simply want to hold it in your hand. It is made entirely of metal and the build quality is just top-notch.

IMG_4102JPG

Its rounded corners on the back make the phone comfortable to hold. Sure, the aluminum shell is a bit slippery but I always prefer metal over glass since it does not attract fingerprints and looks more premium.

IMG_3979JPG

The phone sports a 5.5” 2k resolution Amoled panel, which is sharp, vivid and it is a flagship-worthy display.

20160815_113142

An 8MP camera is here for selfies and just below it, there is a notification LED light.

20160815_113627

The capacitive navigation keys can be customized but they are not backlit, which is a bit strange decision by ZTE.

IMG_3997JPG

A good decision though is the front firing stereo speakers, which are just fantastic. The sound is balanced and rich, and the speakers can get really loud.

20160815_113316

The phone sports a powerful 20MP camera with a bright f/1.8 aperture, OIS and LED flash.

The fingerprint sensor is very accurate, fast and it works from the standby mode. Also, you can use your fingerprint for other features, e.g. assign any app to your fingerprint and it will open up straight from the standby mode.

All the buttons are on the right, they are tactile and easy to press.

IMG_4072JPG

The sound quality via the headset jack is just fantastic and that is thanks to the built-in Hi-Fi audio chip and Dolby Atmos sound system. You can clearly hear the difference once you listen to the 32-bit audio.

ZTE Axon 7 Review: HARDWARE and PERFORMANCE

IMG_4031JPG

When it comes to the sheer power, the Axon 7 is no slouch either. It comes with a Snapdragon 820 chip, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which can be further expanded via the microSD card slot.

As expected, gaming performance is excellent. The phone handles all 3D games without any issues.

Also, I didn’t notice any overheating issues.

ZTE Axon 7 Review: BENCHMARKS

ZTE Axon 7 Review: USER INTERFACE

As for the user interface performance, the phone runs fast and fluid on a daily basis and so far I didn’t have any hiccups or lag. The phone runs on the MiFavor 4.0, which is a pretty nice implementation of Android 6.0.

As it has become usual to most Chinese phones, there is no app tray. There are some basic customization options that allow you change transition effects and so on.

Also, you can select from a few different themes, use the Mi Pop button if you want, use gesture and motion controls that work well or adjust the display color temperature.

Finally, the phone has a few built-in apps like a toolkit if you need to measure things.

ZTE Axon 7 Review: CAMERA

The camera app is pretty simple and easy to use. The phone can take pictures very fast but it takes a fraction of second to process the image as the phone has to deal with 20MP after all.

We have a few shooting modes that include a full manual mode.

ZTE Axon 7 Review: IMAGE QUALITY

When it comes to the image quality, the 20MP camera can take some well-detailed and nice looking daylight images that have accurate color reproduction and sharpness.

The indoor and macro shots also look good but there is a little bit more noise in some of the shots.

The low-light camera performance is pretty good for a $400 phone. However, if we compare the Axon 7 to the top-tier flagships, there is a high amount of noise in all of the pictures and most of them look slightly underexposed. The phone is not the best in class for low-light photography (e.g. OnePlus 3 is a better performer) but it is definitely one of the best.

The Axon phone can shoot some awesome looking 4k videos that are very detailed and sharp. Also, I love the fact that the continuous auto-focus and OIS features work quite well during the video recording. See the video review for video samples.

An 8MP front-facing camera can take some detailed selfie images in good lighting but it is not so impressive in lower-lit environments.

ZTE Axon 7 Review: CONNECTIVITY

IMG_4113JPG

I’ve used the Axon 7 in various locations to thoroughly test all the connectivity options. The phone performed well all the time whether | needed to make a call or use the GPS to find my way home.

ZTE Axon 7 Review: BATTERY LIFE

IMG_4033JPG

The phone sports a beefy 3250 mAh battery but it has to power up a 2k resolution display and powerful internal hardware.

Still, the device has a great battery life. You can easily get 1 or 1.5 days out of this phone on a mixed use. That translates to approx. of 5 hours of screen-on time. Overall, I would say that the Axon 7 has a great battery life.

In case you need to recharge the phone, the Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 comes to help. I was able to fully charge the phone in just one hour, which is a fantastic result.

ZTE Axon 7 Review: CONCLUSIONS

IMG_4053JPG

The ZTE Axon is a very solid $400 phone that can rival even the most expensive flagships.

It has a great design and exceptional build quality, brilliant display, flagship-grade specs and good all-around performance.

IMG_4207JPG

The user interface has quite a few features to play with and the 3250 mAh battery will definitely get you through the day or more.

IMG_4042JPG

Also, the Axon phone will not disappoint you on vacation when you want to take a lot of daylight pictures but the low-light camera performance could be slightly better.

IMG_4055JPG

Speaking of low-light situations, the phone’s capacitive keys are not backlit for some reason. Also, the selfie camera will take better pictures if you are in good lighting.

At the end of the day, the ZTE Axon 7 is without any doubt one of the best $400 phones. In fact, it is one of those devices that has quite a lot of features that allow this phone to rival even with the most expensive flagships. For less.

Vernee Mars Model Will Come With Arc Band Design, Similar to Meizu Pro 6

Phone designs have come a long way, since the birth of the first smartphones. Now, we have metal, glass, wood (back cover) and premium plastic options for smartphone bodies, with different people preferring different materials for their phones. Metal seems to be the consumer favorite mainly because of its premium looks and sturdy form factor. However, in the case of metal phones, you will often find two antenna lines at the back, which has become the common trend among all metal handsets.

vernee mars antenna 02

Meizu Pro 6 turned out to be one of the first phones to use a unique arc antenna band design and from the numerous leaks of the new iPhone 7 models, the same design also seems to have been adopted on the new Apple smartphones. Now, Vernee has just revealed that its upcoming model, the Vernee Mars will also come with a similar Arc Band design, making it unique among the competition.

Unlike the traditional antenna design, the Vernee Mars’s antenna bands will be curved around the edges, blending well with the overall design. The company reveals that the process behind it is slightly more complicated as compared to the traditional manufacturing process, however, Vernee adds that for the best visual effects, they decided to go with this design.

The Vernee Mars is now confirmed to come with black arc antenna design on its silver body. We have a couple of images of the Mars’s antenna bands, you can check them out from above.

Xiaomi has just slashed the official price of the Xiaomi Mi5 flagship that was announced back in February. Lenovo Teases Launch of Flexible Phone at IFA Berlin Conference

A few months ago, Lenovo showed off a concept tablet and phone with flexible displays at their Lenovo Tech World event which was held in San Francisco. It seems the device is going out of concept and will see an official launch following a new video release.

LENOVO FLEXIBLE

The video which is released ahead of the IFA Berlin 2016 conference is based on the theme “Different For the Sake of Better”. The video shows a couple of devices such as what appears to be a new Lenovo Yoga, a new type of keyboard, and most importantly, a phone with a flexible display and a foldable tablet.

Lenovo foldable phone

Samsung and LG are two other big names in the flexible phones race. Samsung says they plan on bringing flexible phones to the market come 2017 with a possibility of showing up early next year during Mobile World Congress.

LG on the other hand already has 2 bendable phones: the G Flex and G Flex 2, but still doesn’t plan to get outdone by its Korean brother. So they are also preparing to launch phones with foldable displays next year.

If Lenovo does launch their flexible phone this year, they’ll officially be the first company to do so. The thing about flexible phones isn’t the display itself but other components which are not easily bendable such as the battery.

August 31 is two weeks from now and we are really excited to see Lenovo’s new phone.

Antutu’s Top 10 Smartphones of July 2016 Based on Performance

Antutu usually releases the top 10 phones for each month based on performance and they’ve made the list for the phones that scored the highest in July.

Antutu top 10

Taking the lead which shouldn’t be a surprise is none other than the OnePlus 3. The OnePlus 3 which scored a total of 140288 points features a Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of ROM.

Coming in second is Vivo’s X5 Play Elite with a score of 138706. The X5 Play features the same processor as the OnePlus 3, but it is clocked lower at 2.15GHz. It also features 6GB of RAM but doubles the storage to 128GB and comes with a curved 2K display.

The LeEco Le Max 2 is the third best smartphone scoring almost 700 points less than the Vivo (138026). The LeMax 2 uses the Snapdragon 820 SoC with the same clock speed as the Vivo, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. Xiaomi’s next smart product could be a Washing Machine

If you were sad that there wasn’t a washing machine on offer from your favorite Chinese startup, Xiaomi, you’d be happy to know that tomorrow, the company will most likely launch this product via its crowdfunding app. While the company is yet to officially confirm that the product releasing tomorrow is indeed a washing machine, the teasers and the hints provided by the company’s smart home app on Weibo seems to point out that it’s going to be a mini washing machine.

The Mi Smart Home app has revealed a few teasers on its page, confirming a new product launch on August 16 at 10:00AM. The teasers have focused on the cleaning aspect of this product, which is hinting that it could be a smart washing machine. Now, if you are still not convinced, then it’s worth pointing that the official account of MINIJ (a mini washing machine and refrigerator manufacturer) has been forwarding and commenting on Xiaomi’s teasers for the past couple of days. This had added to speculations that the product is indeed a new washing machine and will be manufactured by MINIJ.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 In Pictures With Dual Cameras & Curved Display (Renders)

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is one of the most anticipated smartphones in the second half of 2016. Analyst Pan Juitang has revealed that we could meet this new flagship as soon as this month, but as of now, we haven’t heard any official smartphone launch event in August. However, the rumors and leaks have painted a very powerful image of the Mi Note 2 flagship, with features such as dual cameras, curved screen display and Snapdragon 821 chip inside. Now, if you were wondering how the Mi Note 2 would look like with these features, then you are in luck as a few fan-made renders of the device have just been spotted.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 renders 01

The Mi Note 2 renders seem to use the same 3D glass body of the Mi5, adding the dual cameras at the back and a curved display as revealed by recent rumors. In fact, a few days back, we even got to see the alleged dual curved display panel of the Mi Note 2, revealing its slight resemblance to Galaxy Note 7’s design. Looks like these renders were made taking all these information into consideration and to be honest, the maker has done a fine job of making the Mi Note 2 look premium and flagship worthy. In fact, these renders could be close to what the new Xiaomi flagship could look like, although we haven’t seen it in real life to confirm this yet.

The front of the device looks beautiful, with curved glass display and the rectangular home button. These renders also have the speakers located at the bottom of the phone. You will also find the USB Type-C port used in the design. The back of the phone looks like the Mi5 with a glass body. However, we can see the dual cameras and dual tone flash on top.

Oppo R9s likely to launch in September, Analyst hints

The Oppo R9s which is touted to be the successor to the highly successful Oppo R9, may be released as early as next month, if words from renowned industry analyst Pan Jiutang is anything to go by. According to the well-known analyst, the Oppo R9s could be released in September, just before the China National Day which comes up on October 1.

Oppo R9s

This seems to correspond with a recent teaser released by Oppo which made the rounds on the internet with the words “TheNextOne”, apparently referring to the Oppo R9s that had been rumored to debut later this year.

The Oppo R9s is said to feature a thin metal body, with a 2500mAh battery which will come with a new super VOOC fast charging feature that can charge the battery full in 15 minutes. Also, the Oppo R9s is touted to come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset instead of the MediaTek Helio P10 found inside the current R9 model.

Expected HTC Nexus Flagship spotted in leaked image, Looks Ugly!

Google’s expected 2016 Nexus flagships may just be very close to coming out of the factory if the leaks we get, quite frequently these days, are anything to go by. The 2016 Nexus codenamed Sailfish had earlier on been spotted in a GFXBench listing that gave out some of the key specs of the smartphone. Now, one of the two Nexus smartphones (most likely HTC Nexus) may just have been leaked in a spy shot.

 HTC Nexus

The image said to be that of the higher end Nexus smartphone, was leaked by a Twitter user that goes by the username “Nexus”. Quite curiously the account seem to have been opened just this August and has only two tweets both relating to the Nexus devices.

The first of the two tweets describes the 2016 HTC Nexus as looking like “a cross between the Nexus 4 & the iPhone with glass and fingerprint scanner on the back”. The comparison seems to be referring to the 4-inch iPhone SE or any of the 4-inch iPhones and the Nexus 4 developed by Google and LG back in 2012.

From the leaked spy shot, the edge of the Nexus device appears to be made out of plastic, while the rear is covered with glass. There is also an audio jack at the top which is in contrast with what is expected on the iPhone 7. A fingerprint sensor can also be spotted at the back, which also features a small camera with LED flash.

The next tweet actually reveals that the image render is that of the premium model of the 2016 HTC Nexus smartphones which should be the one codenamed Marlin and both are said to be under 5.5-inches in screen sizes, while the lower end flagship will be made of glossy plastic.

The image isn’t very clear and the tipster is relatively unknown, with no previous track record, so we might as well take this with a pinch of salt while we wait for more details to emerge.

Meizu Has Something Coming Up in September

Meizu is set for something new in September based on an image posted on Weibo. The image which has the words ”Pro than Pro” and another set of words in chinese which loosely translates to ”True Flagship on Your Fingertips” hints at a new phone. A new Pro phone actually.

Meizu Pro

If you remember, part of the rumours and speculations for Meizu’s ”E” device was for a phone sporting Samsung’s high end chipset, the Exynos 8890 but what we got was another mid-range phone, the Meizu M3E with a Helio P10 processor. This might just be the device. The true Meizu flagship that can compete with other flagships.

The date on the poster says 3rd of September, which is quite strange based on the fact that it falls on a Saturday. No manufacturer (to the best of my knowledge though) launches a device on a weekend.

What device do you think Meizu is launching next month? A Pro 6 with an Exynos 8890 processor or a new Pro phone entirely? Let us know what you think in the comment box.

Leaked Images of Purported Huawei Mate 9 Shows Dual Cameras

Huawei’s flagship line isn’t complete without the Mate series, and with the last release almost a year already, we should be getting more details of what to expect from its successor, the Mate 9.

Huawei Mate 9 Leak
Huawei Mate 9 Leak

About 4 months ago, we reported that the Mate 9 is rumoured to come with a 20MP dual-camera setup. While we can’t confirm if it will indeed be 20MP  sensors, we can say with a little more certainty that the phone will feature dual-cameras based on leaked photos of what an individual whose name translates to @Buns says is the Mate 9.

The camera is positioned differently from how you have it on the Huawei P9. Instead of being side by side and on the left, they are in the middle and stacked on each other with what appears to be a laser for autofocus and LED flash flanking it on both sides. The image also shows a fingerprint scanner below the cameras. Another image uploaded shows the bottom of the phone which reveals the phone will come with USB Type-C.

The size of the phone also kind of confirms that it may indeed come with a 5.9” screen.  The Mate 9 is expected to be released in October or November and is said to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
