All other manufacturers that have released Android Go phones have shipped them with pure/stock android. Samsung is expected to announce its own Android Go device soon but it won’t run stock Android.
Leaked images have shown that the unreleased Samsung Android Go phone runs Samsung’s Experience UI just like its other phones. As you can see from the images below, the app icons, navigation buttons, and quick settings are that of Experience UI.
[envira-gallery id=”199487″]
Apart from the UI being different, the phone comes with a mix of Android Go and Samsung apps. There is Maps Go, Android Go, and Gmail Go. It also comes with Facebook Lite. The Samsung apps are a replacement for some Android Go apps. For example, there is Smart Manager instead of Files Go and Samsung Max instead of Google’s Datally app.
The Android Go device is expected to launch as the Galaxy J2 Core. Even with the thick bezels, Samsung has opted for on-screen buttons. There is a single camera and LED flash on the rear. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) as expected but with December’s security patch.
Nubia is pushing out an update to 2016’s Z11 mini S. The new update which comes as Nubia UI 3.09 brings a ton of new visual changes, new features, and bug fixes. Sadly, it doesn’t update the Android version.
Some of the new features include new animations for missed calls; adaptive weather icons; animations for background file transfer and recording, along with notifications when completed; and a new icon for roaming. Nubia has also changed the position of the alarm clock and signal icons.
The update also brings a game mode which restricts notifications and pop-ups from interrupting the user and also increases performance. It also blocks edge gestures, one-touch fingerprint screenshot, and split-screen function.
A new Oppo affordable phone is going to be launched soon: it is called Oppo A5 and it has just hit TENAA for its official certification. Besides certifying the device, the Chinese regulatory agency has also revealed the renders and the main specs of the upcoming phone. Judging from its specs sheet, it is similar to the Realme 1, that is the first phone from the first company’s sub-brand. That is why the handset is expected to be launched in the Indian peninsula with a similarly affordable price tag. Thanks to the renders, we can see the first difference from the Realme 1 in its design.
It does not sport the same diamond-like finish and has a simple blue backplate. The dimensions are 156.2 x 75.6 x 8.2 mm and the display has a 6.2-inch size, a notch and an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. Instead of the MediaTek Helio P60 SoC, Oppo A5 has a lower-end Snapdragon 450 by Qualcomm which is currently the most powerful from the Snapdragon 4xx line-up, but still a low-end chipset. It will be released in two configurations which will offer 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.
While the hardware side is worse than the Realme 1 on the paper, the camera seems to be more advanced. The Oppo A5 has a dual camera configuration with resolutions of 13 and 2 MP, with a secondary sensor able to capture depth information. The selfie camera has an 8 MP resolution, while the battery has a whopping 4100 mAh capacity. Given that this phone has a display with low resolution and a very efficient SoC, we expect this battery to be very long-lasting. Unfortunately, there is not a fingerprint reader to unlock the phone, so it will probably have a facial recognition feature, even though it should not rely on hardware sensors to get 3D info.
Asus is all set to launch its flagship smartphone Asus Zenfone 5Z in India tomorrow. Now, ahead of the phone’s official launch, its pricing has surfaced online through online retailer Flipkart where the phone will be exclusively available for purchase.
The phone’s listing on Flipkart reveals that the 6GB RAM variant will be priced at Rs. 29,999 (approximately $438). The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model will be priced at Rs. 32,999 (approximately $481) while the 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage variant will be available for Rs. 36,999, which roughly converts to $540.
The starting price of the Asus Zenfone 5Z in India is lower than that of OnePlus 6 and Honor 10, against which the smartphone will be competing in this segment. Also, if the pricing turns out to be true, it will be the cheapest Snapdragon 845 SoC powered smartphone in India.
The smartphone features a 5.2-inch notched IPS LCD display that supports a Full HD+ screen resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. It comes with 500 nits Brightness, 95.4% NTSC color gamut, DCI-P3, 1500: 1 Contrast Ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
The device is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 845 chipset with Adreno 630 GPU. There are three different variants of the phone based on the memory configuration. It comes with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB onboard storage. However, it seems that the 4GB RAM variant won’t be launched in India.
Coming to the photography, there’s a dual camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary camera with dual-tone LED Flash, Sony IMX363 sensor, 1.4μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, 0.03s Tri-Tech auto-focus/Dual Pixel PDAF, 4-axis OIS/EIS, and a Pro mode with RAW support. The secondary camera is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture, OV8856 sensor, and 120-degree wide-angle lens. On the front side, it features an 8-megapixel snapper with f/2.0 aperture, OV8856 sensor, and 83-degree wide-angle lens.
The smartphone runs on Android Oreo operating system out of the box with the company’s own custom interface ZenUI on top. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. The device is powered by a 3300mAh battery that supports ASUS BoostMaster fast charging and AI charging.
After officially announcing the MIUI 10 with all its features and after starting the beta testing phase and the first updates, Xiaomi has revealed the period in which several of its handsets will be updated to the new user interface based on Android. On June 29, the update already hit several devices from the Mi series, including Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi 8 SE, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Xiaomi Mi Mix, Xiaomi Mi 6X, Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi Note.
The company may even decide to update up to 33 devices to MIUI 10 in July. That’s a huge amount, even though not all the most recent devices have been mentioned. But it is very evident that Xiaomi’s software support increases every day more.
Although there is no launch date yet, the Mi Max 3 will likely be heading to Taiwan after launching in Mainland China. Proof comes from the device’ sighting at Taiwan’s NCC.
The listing reveals the model number of the Taiwanese version is M1804E4A which is the same as one of the models that surfaced on TENAA a few weeks ago.
While some sites have reported that this is the Mi Max 3 Pro, the TENAA specs prove otherwise. This model is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core chipset which is definitely not the rumored Snapdragon 710 powering the Mi Max 3 Pro. The SD710 is clocked at 2.2GHz and the TENAA listing for the MI 8 SE shows that.
Meizu‘s CEO Huang Zhang has been very generous with details of the flagship Meizu 16. The CEO had hinted that the device will be launched later this month on earlier August. However, a recent chat by Mr Zhang on Meizu’s online community saw him disclosing that the device will be launched precisely on August 26. The CEO is credited to have hinted that the device will be available to buy right after the launch.
Earlier on, Meizu revealed that the device will pack a Snapdragon 845 flagship chip. There are also rumours that the phone will feature an under-display fingerprint scanner and a large tall screen. In addition, the phone is tipped to come with a pressure-sensitive home button under the OLED panel. That because the physical mBack button won’t be on the device due to the full-screen design.
The flagship Meizu 16 is also expected to come with a vapor chamber for cooling and most recently, Zhang revealed that there will be a version with 8GB + 128GB memory. That is likely going to be the topmost variant of the Snapdragon 845-powered variant. Do note that the Meizu 16 will equally have a Lite version that would be powered by a Snapdragon 710 chipset but devoid of the under-display fingerprint scanner. We still have to wait until Meizu officially rolls out the invitation to the launch.
Chinese phone maker Vivo has got a naming pattern that we can’t seem to keep up with. The company has just unveiled the Vivo Z10. It is supposed to be a new smartphone but a good number of the features are similar to that of the Vivo V7+ which was unveiled sometime last year.
The Vivo Z10’s design cannot be said to be any different from the V7+. The device presents with a 5.99-inch FullView display with a resolution of 720 x 1,440 pixels. The display has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 84.4%. You also get ultra-thin bezels at the chin and highly reduced bezels at the top and bottom edges. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 450 chipset which was introduced by Qualcomm in June last year. The processor is paired with 4GB of RAM and the phone has an internal storage of 32 GB. This is the only difference we can pick up between the V7+ and Z10. In addition, the Z10 packs a 3,225mAh battery, dual SIM slots and runs FunTouch OS 3.2 based on Android Nougat. The design also includes a rear-mounted fingerprint reader but there is also Face unlock feature caledd Face Access.
On the camera aspect, the Vivo Z10 features a 16 MP camera on the back with Ultra HD mode that makes 64 MP photos through image stacking. The device also packs a 24MP selfie shooter with LED flash at the front with LED flashlight.
The price of the Z10 is yet to be revealed but the device will be sold offline only and should be cheaper than the V7+ since the storage is smaller. The phone comes in Gold, Black and Blue colours. It will be available on Vivo official offline stores in the states of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu in India.
Meitu just announced its latest phone – the Meitu T9 – last month. It seems it has another phone coming soon based on a recent TENAA listing.
The Meitu MP1710 mainly has the same design as other phones from the manufacturer. It even shares some specs with the T9. Its display is a 5.88-inch OLED panel with a 2244 x 1080 resolution. At the top of the display sits two large camera sensors.
There is a 2.2GHz octa-core processor powering the device. The chipset is the same in the TENAA listing for the T9, which is the Snapdragon 660 mobile platform. It will come in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB of storage respectively.
[envira-gallery id=”199425″]
The phone also has dual rear cameras and they are the same 12MP + 5MP configuration as the ones in front. We expect it to come with Meitu’s usual camera features and beautification technology. It also has a fingerprint scanner, supports fast charging, and runs Android 8.1 Oreo. Its battery capacity is given as 2830mAh.
The Vivo NEX just went on sale last week since it was officially announced. The bezel-less phone comes with a Snapdragon 845 processor but may not be the only one powered by the chipset from them this year. Just yesterday, another SD845 phone was seen on Geekbench.
The device was benchmarked early yesterday as the “vivo vivo 1805”. The benchmark result reveals it has a sdm845 chipset along with 8GB of RAM. It also runs Android 8.1 Oreo.
Benchmark scores for the phone are 2445 and 9121 points for single-core and multi-core tests respectively. They are similar to those of other Snapdragon 845 phones.

The report had also claimed that the Motorola One smartphone would be arriving in Black and White color options. Today, the rumor mill has shared two images of the white edition of the alleged Motorola One smartphone.
Motorola has a launch event coming up on Aug. 2. It is speculated to announce Moto Z3, Motorola One and One Power smartphones at the event. The leaked renders of Motorola One and One Power that have surfaced so far have Android One text present on their rear. Both the phones have notched display. Motorola One in Black and White
A mysterious Motorola phone that was spotted earlier in this week. It had a notch-less display along with a vertical dual camera. Also, the smartphone did not feature Android One text on its rear. The two images of a white model of the Motorola smartphone that has appeared today only shows the its rear design. The exact identity of this smartphone. Could be non-Android One edition of the Motorola One? It could also a white variant of the mysterious Motorola phone that had appeared in Black color earlier in this week. Hence, it could be also spotting a notch-less screen. Ther is a possibility that these two phones could be prototypes or unfinished versions of the Android One Motorola One and One Power smartphones.
The rumors surrounding the upcoming Motorola phones are quite confusing. The Aug. 2 launch event is nearly a month away. Just as the rumor mill had revealed plenty of leaked renders before the launch of Moto Z3 Play, it is likely that more renders and better photos of upcoming Motorola phones may surface in the coming weeks.

Today, Huawei has introduced the Honor 10 GT as its first smartphone with 8 GB of RAM as enhanced edition of the Honor 10 that was introduced in April this year. Also, the Honor 10 GT features GPU Turbo (GT) technology that significantly improves the graphics performance of the smartphone.
In June, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had introduced Honor Play with GPU Turbo feature. The latter is a software and hardware optimized graphics acceleration technology that enhances the graphics performance of a smartphone by 60 percent and at the same time it consumes 30 percent less power. Huawei is in the process of making it available to several Huawei and Honor phones through a software update.
Smartphones with GPU Turbo technology can run games like King of Glory and QQ Speed with full frame rate. The single-thread performance of a GPU Turbo enabled mid-range phone can beat the performance of multi-thread performance of some flagship phones.
The power saving feature on the Honor 10 GT ensures that its power consumption during 8 hours of standby is only 2 to 3 percent. Apart from the powerful GPU Turbo technology, the Honor 10 GT comes with 8 GB of RAM for bolstering its performance.
Huawei had introduced Super Night Scene mode on the Mate 10 for capturing beautiful night shots by using a tripod. The same camera feature will be brought to Honor 10 GT through a beta update from July 12.
The Honor 10 GT borrows all the other specs from the regular version of Honor 10. Hence, the Honor 10 GT features a notched IPS LCD display of 5.84 inches that carries support for 19:9 aspect ratio and 2280 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution. The Kirin 970 is the driving force of the phone. The native storage of the phone is not known, but it seems that it could be featuring 128 GB of inbuilt storage.
For photography, it features 24-megapixel + 16-megapixel dual camera unit on its back. Its front-facing camera is of 24-megapixel. Below the screen of the phone is a fingerprint scanner enabled capacitive home button. It is running on EMUI 8.1 flavored Android 8.1 Oreo OS.
The pricing of the Honor 10 GT is yet to be disclosed. The Honor 10 with 6 GB RAM is priced at 2,599 Yuan (~$390). So, the Honor 10 GT with 8 GB RAM could be priced under 2,999 Yuan (~$450). Huawei has confirmed that the smartphone would be made available for buying starting from July 24 from Honor’s online store and JD.com

The design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is not a big secret as recent reports have revealed its appearance would be very similar to the Galaxy Note 8 from last year. Fresh renders of the Note 9 have surfaced today to reveal its front and rear design.
As it can be seen in the new images, the Galaxy Note 9 features a dual edge curved screen with slim bezels at the top and bottom like the Galaxy Note 8. The major change in the design of the Note 9 is the repositioning of the fingerprint reader. The fingerprint scanner was placed awkwardly besides the horizontal dual camera.
On the Note 9, the fingerprint reader is placed below the horizontal dual camera unit. The case shows the presence of buttons for volume and Bixby on the left and a power key on the right.
Samsung will be bringing design changes on the Galaxy S10 as it will be arriving as the 10th anniversary Galaxy S smartphone from the company. The Note 10 arriving later in 2019 is likely to sport an enhanced design too.
Coming back to the Galaxy Note 9, it will be arriving with some improved internals. Leaks that have surfaced in the past few months have revealed specs like 6.4-inch S-AMOLED Infinity Display, Snapdragon 845 / Exynos 9810 SoC, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of RAM, dual camera with variable aperture and 4,000mAh battery. There could be an 8 GB RAM variant with 256 GB or 512 GB of internal storage.
The S Pen stylus of the Note 9 is expected to carry support for Bluetooth connectivity that will make it possible to use it to do non-stylus related tasks like controlling music playback and long-range selfie timer.
It is speculated that since the upcoming Note 9 has a similar design with advanced specs, Samsung may kill the sales of Galaxy Note 8. In fact, retailers are reportedly clearing up the current stock of the Note 8. The Galaxy Note 9 is slated to get unveiled on Aug. 9. It is speculated the Gear S4 smartwatch may also get unveiled at the same event.

A couple of months ago, HMD Global launched Nokia X6, the company’s first smartphone that features a trendy notch on top of the display. The smartphone went on sale a few times and went out of sale within a few seconds in almost every flash sale.
At the time of the launch, the company had announced that the Nokia X6 will be available in three color options — Dark Blue, Polar White, and Stark Black. After a few sales of the Nokia X6, the company has finally decided to start selling the Polar White color variant.
Starting today, the HMD Global‘s Nokia X6 Polar White color variant will be available for purchase. Currently, it is offered in only one variant — 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, priced at 1,699 Yuan, which roughly converts to $254.
The smartphone comes with a 5.8-inch Full-HD+ display with screen resolution of 2280 × 1080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. There’s a notch on top of the display, similar to that of Apple iPhone X and the display is covered by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which protects from minor scratches.
It is powered by Qualcomm‘s recently launched Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, which also powers the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, among others. The phone is available in two variants — 4GB RAM with 32GB / 64GB internal storage and the 6GB RAM variant which packs 64GB internal storage.
There’s also a microSD card slot, which enables users to further expand the phone’s storage capacity up to 256GB. Coming to the camera department, the smartphone features a dual camera setup, having a 16-megapixel RGB primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary monochrome sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the front side, there’s a 16-megapixel snapper with f/2.0 aperture and 1.0um pixel size.
